Television Advertising

for this unit we are researching and creating are own TV ads. We are tasked to research certain ads to get  a grasp on what they say and howw they market a product to consumers, then editing greenscreen, as most ads use greenscreen to make the product look better with

Advertisment deconstruction

Cadburys monkey ad

DOE shock ad

ALDI juice ad

these deconsturtions were done in a group, we all had to write about the ads we were given, i found the DOE sd to be the one that stuck with me the most, as it was an expected end, shock ads are meant to do this as the message will stick with you more, so that whatever message theyre trying to send is one the viewer will keep i the bakc of their mind whenever they do the thing the ad is about.

i find the Aldi one the least effective as it took me age to figure out what they were trying to say with it, the shortness of it doesn't help as they have to rush the joke into a small slot

Green screen editing

a greens screen is a tool used to chroma-key in backgrounds that are otherwise impossible to get normally, for example, outer space. The reason its green is because it's the furthest from human skin, blue can also be used but it isn't as common, lighting is important to green screens, to avoid the green screen creating a "spoil", a spoil  is a gross border of green around the subject, to prevent this the lighting needs to come from the front and the back, creating a separation of the subject and the background, aswell as keeping the object of focus away from the back of the green sc
lighting is important to the process of green screen, if the lighting is wrong the green screen will look wrong and won't fit the scene you're trying to chroma-key them into, common fixes for these is that if the place your chromakeying them into is bright, brighten the lights and vise versa for the darkness, diming the lights.
Green screen can also be used to chromakey people and animals into a scene, if needed.

What is the purpose of green screen?

how to prevent bad green screen

as mentioned before keep the objects in focus away from the back of the green screen to prevent spoil, keep lighting accurate to the setting you want to portray, light for daytime setting and dark for night settings

Another way to prevent bad green screen is to not wear green or light clothing, as it'll blend into the green screen making a hole in the person who wore it, this goes for blue screen Aswell.

Thing to keep an eye out for are people with thick hair, as the starnds that come off wont show on screen and if they do will have a green spoil around them, to prevent this either have them tie the hair up or brush it to a point where it isn't noticeable.

Green screen Videos

Print screens

These are the print screens of editing, the original plan for the bench green screen was to impose an image made in photoshop to put infront, but this wouldn't've worked as it would've cut off both their legs, Aswell as Alfie's body. I found the whole experince with ultra-key to pretty straight foward and messing with th setting to get it right was challenging but fun

This was are filming and setting up the product table, we were the first group to use the room, so we got to see how everything is set up and placed, we also got to see how to properly put away the green screen and lights

messing with the lights and channel settings was fun, getting the lights to be right for the photo is easy, as is setting up the product table.

Final products

This is the final product, aswell as a failed product. The finale one is the one on the left, this one was easy to correct the faults too, as turning down the exposure rate, a lot of the imperfection and hidden by the black and white filter put on it, the video fit perfectly as we had the sit on actual chairs covered in a green tarp. If i were to change it i would add sound effects to make him seem like has actually reacting to something happening. On the other hand, is the second vioeo, we didn't exactly think it through with him going behind the green chairs, this is something we don't yet haw to do properly, so in a last snitch effort to save it i added some ironic funny image of him punching Walter, to make it seem like its bad on purpose, when really its not

Product photos

Can

Objects

Edited photos

These are the photos and the edits of what we did on the product table, it started out simple with just a can, on the edit i did a simple sharpening of the edge of the can, clone stamping th 2 black dots in the bakcground out  and changing the colour of the can to green, which is easier than normal to with all the white background space. We then changed it up by adding anything and everything we can find, starting with a weird light we found, adding a paint brush and light stick to it, i changed one of those photos to an ironic image, changing the hue and saturation to try and match the mountain side, and adding text above it. We then added more things including paper plates, tape a lamp and wooden blocks, it did create a nice image to take photos of though, it could be taken artistically Aswell, with the "nothing on the product table" paper in the mix of all this stuff being placed on it

Advertsiment Pre- production

This is the pre-production for our first shots by ourselves in the studio, aswell as the first time we have done this without intervetion from Chris, as the ads are only 30 seconds they're quite simple plans but still very long, making me anxious for how long theyll be for our 3 minute films/music videos.
